Bringing Boba to Brewerytown!
Andy’s family is from Taiwan but he grew up in a small town in New Jersey. When he was young, his family would always drink bubble tea - or boba - with their meals. Andy’s dad was a natural tea leaf fanatic and his friends would constantly gift him unique teas from various climates across the world! From the Alishan Mountains of Taiwan to the Assam Tropics of India, Andy’s dad would collect them all and he would always share them with his friends and family.
Over the past few years, Andy began to see an increase in popularity of Boba in all the major cities. He was ecstatic to see a staple of his culture be so well accepted in the US. When he moved to Brewerytown in 2021, he was surprised to see there were no boba options within walking distance of his new community.
Max was Andy’s realtor and introduced him to his own neighborhood in Brewerytown. Max never tried boba before he met Andy, but when Andy made him his first cup he immediately fell in love. Having a much greater knowledge of the neighborhood and Philadelphia, Max knew there wasn’t anywhere nearby that he could get the boba he craved since that first sip.
Putting their minds together - Andy and Max decided they had to work together to bring the delicious flavors to their community in Brewerytown!
Brewerytown Bakery
Marck and Kelsey opened Brewerytown Bakery back in 2022 after Andy moved into the neighborhood. Marck wanted to bring vegan friendly baked goodies to his neighborhood in Brewerytown. One day Andy stumbled upon their bakery. After chatting with Marck, they agreed that boba was a much needed addition to the neighborhood.
After meeting with Max and Andy, Marck and Kelsey agreed to let Andy and Max open their neighborhood boba shop inside of Brewerytown Bakery and that was the day Brew Boba was born!
